Music Director Weekend 09/21/2011
This past weekend I attended a Music Director Seminar put on by Richard Biever of Singing Onstage Productions. Myself and the other attendees were gifted with the chance to be witness to panel discussions of some of the brightest luminaries of the musical theatre world today. As someone who has done regional and educational theatre, the weekend gave me a glimpse into the world of those that are the current day masters of the art form. Thanks to Richard Biever and all the panelists that gave their time to us! Add Comment Settling In? 08/22/2011
Been in New York now for a few weeks. You could say I'm still very much learning the ropes, but I have started to meet some great folks. David Hahn (Broadway pianist) has been kind enough to hang with me, introduce me to some other great peeps including Cameron Mizell and Brad Whiteley (Cameron Mizell Trio), and give me useful advice and insight into the music world of New York. Saw my buddy from Austin, TX Marc Devine play with a fabulous trio at Cleopatra's Needle, had a few drinks, and then when he asked me if I wanted to play I totally chickened out! Saw the comedian Tig Notaro at The Knitting Factory in Williamsburg. She is a real treat, unique and witty and dry and well just amazing. Overall having a great time. I'm still very excited about all that happens in this city and the process of carving my niche as time goes by. Cheers! Now in NYC 08/01/2011
Well, a lot has happened to me over the past few months. It's been a whirlwind of getting ready to move and then moving from Austin, TX to Brooklyn - New York City. Things are still wacky as my wife and I struggle to get our apartment in order. Going from a three bedroom Texas house to a two bedroom New York apartment is not for the faint of heart! But we're here and we're happily learning the ropes of this amazing city! CM All-Stars great first gig 02/17/2011
